Wholegrain Rice Varieties

‘Our partner-rice cooperative farmers of Northern Luzon and Southern Mindanao uphold an age-old tradition of producing artisanal, heirloom wholegrain rice varieties. From dawn to dusk, at the seemingly endless green rice fields, together they delicately plant each seedling by hand while singing and patiently tilling the land until harvest time. From season to season, with deep respect for the earth and nature’s natural cycle, vibrant celebrations abound for the abundant harvest with profound gratefulness.

Permit its flavorful nutty taste, rich texture with full volume and natural sweet aroma, enrich your palate. We humbly bring their legacy to your table. ‘

What is wholegrain rice ?

Wholegrain rice is unpolished rice containing all parts of the grain including the fibrious bran, nutritive germ, and the carb-rich endosperm. Depending on the type of rice, it can differ in shape, size and color including the quantities of minerals nad vitamins such as iron, magnesium, B vitamins and fibre.

Why do we love these ?

Fiber-rich whole grains like red, black and brown rice contain more fiber than refined grains like white rice. These rain-fed, heirloom varieties are naturally full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals — therefore, no empty calories ! Prevalent studies show that men and women eating more wholegrain rice feel fuller, digest rice better and overall consume less rice that help reduce weight and maintain a lower blood pressure.

How rich are they in fiber ?

Brown rice contains 1.8g fiber per 100g compared to white rice which contains less than 1 gram.

Black rice has about 3 grams of fiber per half cup serving that helps regulate the bowel movements, prevent constipation, diarrhea and bloating.

Red rice has 6.2 grams fiber content per 100 grams.
